About us
Hamsterbrain's Trading Post is a card shop that sells online. There is no warehouse and no algorithm doing the grading — there is a bench, a desk lamp, and a very large number of sleeves.
Why we built our own store
We have sold on TCGplayer and Manapool for years, and we still do. Marketplaces are good at putting a card in front of someone searching for it. What they are not good at is letting a shop be a shop — set its own grading standard, answer a question properly, or put a deck together for somebody.
This site is where we get to do that. Same inventory, same cards, no middle layer between you and the person who actually pulled the card out of the box.
How our inventory works
Everything on this site is synced from the same stock file that feeds our marketplace listings. When a card sells anywhere, it comes off the shelf everywhere. If a listing says three Near Mint copies, there are three Near Mint copies sitting in the case.
What we care about
- Grading you can trust. We grade low and describe honestly. Every condition we hold is listed with its own price and count.
- Packing that survives the post. Sleeved, top-loaded, rigid mailer. Sealed goes double-boxed.
- Answering questions before you buy. All sales are final here, which means the burden is on us to make sure you know exactly what you are getting first.
Games we stock
Magic: The Gathering is the deepest part of the case, but Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and One Piece are all growing, alongside sealed product, supplies and bulk.
